Privacy notice
Short, because this site does very little with your data.
The short version
This website sets no cookies. It runs no analytics, no advertising trackers and no third-party scripts, and it loads nothing from anyone else’s servers. If you never contact us, we never learn anything about you beyond what our host records to keep the site running.
What we collect
Only what you type into the contact form: your name, email address, telephone number, company, site location, the service you are asking about, and your message. Every field is there because we need it to answer sensibly, and you can leave out anything you would rather not share.
If you email or telephone us directly, we hold whatever you choose to tell us in that message.
Our hosting provider records standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and reliability. We do not use those logs to identify individuals.
Why we hold it
To reply to your inquiry, prepare a quotation, and carry out any work you go on to commission. Where the law requires a basis to be named, ours is legitimate interest — responding to someone who has asked us a business question — or the steps necessary to enter a contract with you.
We do not send marketing email. We will not add you to a mailing list because you asked us a question.
Who else sees it
Our website host and form provider, Netlify, processes form submissions on our behalf. Our email provider carries the resulting correspondence. Nobody else. We do not sell, rent or trade personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
We may disclose information where the law obliges us to, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.
How long we keep it
Inquiries that do not lead to work are deleted after twenty-four months. Where we carry out a survey, we keep the project correspondence and records for as long as professional, insurance and tax obligations require, which is typically seven years.
Your rights
You may ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to receive a copy in a portable format, to object to processing, or to complain to a regulator.
- United Kingdom and European Union: rights under UK GDPR and GDPR, including complaint to the Information Commissioner’s Office or your national supervisory authority.
- California: rights under the CCPA and CPRA, including to know, delete and correct. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined.
To exercise any of these, email sales@geosearches.com. We will respond within one month.
International transfers
We operate in the United States, the United Kingdom, Bahrain and Colombia, and our host stores data on servers in the United States. If you contact us from outside the United States, your information will be transferred there. We rely on the standard contractual protections our providers offer for those transfers.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Access to inquiries is limited to the people who need it to respond. No system is perfectly secure, and we would not claim otherwise.
Children
This is a business-to-business service. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
If we change this notice we will update the date at the top. Material changes will be described here rather than slipped in quietly.
